Ready to go hookless with your winch line and need a place to secure it when not in use?

With the majority of overlanders opting for soft shackles you can now remove all the metal in your winch line and secure it when not in use. 

This solution allows you to update your existing fairlead by adding this ring.  Currently available for fairlead retrofit or as a separate bolt on requiring a hole drilled into your bumper (picture soon!).

How do I prepare my winch line by removing the hook and thimble?  Most winch line hooks can be removed by removing the pin, which then leaves the thimble.  The thimble can either be carefully removed, or my method is to cut the winch line and splice in a new brummel end.  Follow my video on Youtube ( https://youtu.be/AjSVwXt34TY ) for instructions on how to splice.  Order with a Fid to make the splicing easier.  

Fitment confirmed with Smittybuilt, Badlands, and Come Up winch fairleads.  Likely will fit many others, please contact me for fitment questions.  Includes longer M12 Bolt, Nut and washers.  

Why is it called a "Burf Ring" may you ask?  Well there is no good practical name that I could come up with, so its named after my dog Lucy that lives her life collarless.  Her nick name is "Burf" because that is what she says when she is starting to ramp up to a bark. 

Installation:

• Remove existing fairlead bolt, nut and washer. 
• Replace with Burf Ring using included hardware, torque to 65 Ft lbs. 
• Remove existing hook and thimble from end of winch line, either by careful extraction or by tying a new brummel end.
• Important! When storing winch line onto ring, leave slightly loose to keep it easy to access when needed.
